The Locket

As a young girl, Sarah Batsheva was infatuated with he handsome teenage boy who lived down the street.  That teenage boy was Adolf Eichmann.  Indulgent and attentive, he walked home with her from school in the afternoons, listened as she told him about the events of her day, and never minded that she was a Jew.  It all seemed innocent and nice until Sarah's grandmother died, and the nothing was ever the same again.

Set in Europe during the years surrounding World War II, The Locket follows Sarah's journey from adolescence to adulthood, as she and her family endure the growing threat of anti-Semitism and then the horrors of the Final Solution. 

Forced from their home into a Vienna ghetto and later transferred to the Nazi death camps, Sarah watches helplessly as her family and friends are murdered in the German effort to eliminate Jew from Europe.  She is marked for death too, until Eichmann intervenes and has her assigned to work for him.  But when Sarah rebuffs Eichmann's romantic advances, she is arrested and sent to the camps where she is certain she will die.

Can Sarah escape and survive long enough to find justice for the atrocities she was forced to endure?  Or will evil prevail and consign her to a life of fear and terror?  Read The Locket to follow Sarah on her journey from the darkest days of the Holocaust to the day she enters a Jerusalem courtroom to face Adolf Eichmann, the boy she knew from down the street who became the architect of the Holocaust.
